Ratings are relative, 1-5, for a typical filament of this type. Start from your filament maker's recommended settings.

Use it for

  • You want ABS’s heat resistance with extra stiffness and dimensional stability: tooling, brackets, fixtures, and structural parts that live in a warm enclosure.

Watch out for

  • Carbon fiber wears brass nozzles quickly. Use hardened steel.
  • Stiffer but less impact-tolerant than plain ABS.
  • Still needs an enclosure and ventilation like regular ABS.

Tips

  • It warps a little less than plain ABS, which makes larger parts more forgiving.
  • Dry the spool well before printing.
