Also called: soft tpu, 85a tpu, shore 85a, very soft tpu

Good for

  • Flexible / rubbery

Not great for

  • Fast / bulk printing
  • First-time friendly
  • Load-bearing / mechanical

Typical settings

Nozzle
210-235 °C
Bed
30-60 °C
Speed
10-25 mm/s
Cooling
50-100% part fan

You'll need

Ratings are relative, 1-5, for a typical filament of this type. Start from your filament maker's recommended settings.

Use it for

  • Soft seals, squishy toys, cushioning pads, and parts that must compress a lot.
  • If 95A is not flexible enough, 85A is the next step.

Watch out for

  • Much more likely to jam and tangle in the extruder than 95A.
  • Very slow printing. Expect to run well under 25 mm/s.
  • Soft, so it will not hold shape under real load.

Tips

  • Print with slow speeds and minimal retraction, and ease off the extruder tension so the soft filament is not crushed.
  • Try 95A first if you are new to TPU.
