Ratings are relative, 1-5, for a typical filament of this type. Start from your filament maker's recommended settings.

Use it for

  • Anything that is going to sit on a shelf, a desk, or a table.
  • Figurines, organizers, test fits, and first prints on a new printer are exactly what plain PLA is for.

Watch out for

  • It deforms in a hot car, near a window in summer, or close to a heater.
  • It is brittle. Thin clips and snap-fits often crack rather than flex.

Tips

  • Use a cool-ish bed and full part cooling for the sharpest overhangs.
  • Step up to PLA+ when you need a little more toughness without leaving the PLA workflow.
